Artist Statment

I am an artist and sculptor who aims to capture the expressions and feelings of the human experience through various materials and techniques. I look to explore the human form via experimentation of my materials and more recently delve into the duality of yarn and wire with the technique of crochet. Through my work, I want to convey different feelings, and experiences in order to explore the various array of human emotions and their effects on the viewer. Working instinctually allows for a process and result that connects to my humanness. My work has often taken influence from the human form, through the medium of paint, ink, and animation. This process of recent work has allowed me to explore the fascinating terrain of sculpture and experiment with the unique weight, transparency, and shape that the different materials of yarn and wire create.
